The Salvation Arty show is a playful adaption on the word "salvage." All artists had to use found objects within their piece.

Diane Olsen was born in Edison, New Jersey and raised in the small town of Conneautville, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a rural setting surrounded by farmland and a large Amish community she fostered a love of the natural environment, along with an appreciation of society and simplicity. Diane has always been fascinated by images and how images can be used as an expression of the world. Drawn to photography at a young age, Diane’s interest was cultivated during her teenage years and further developed when she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography at Edinboro University.

Diane embraced documentary photography while studying at Edinboro and became proficient at telling stories through imagery. After the completion of her degree, Diane relocated to Texas where she honed her craft to the point of being able to tell a story through a single image, receiving recognition and awards by the Associated Press for her skill.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Diane has worked in advertising, marketing, and as a freelance photographer. Her latest body of work adds a philosophical twist to items and scenery that is often overlooked, obscure, taken for granted, or discarded. Her medium includes print photography, photo transfers, encaustics, assemblage, and mixed media.

Diane lives and exhibits in DeLand, Florida.
